Description

From the main trail, turn toward the cinder cone. Shortly after the junction, the trail begins to climb the steep cinder trail, arriving at the rim about 0.3 miles later. The views of Mt. Lassen are outstanding!

This is the route most people use to access the cinder cone; the rim trails and the trail to the bottom of the crater can be accessed via this route.
