Originally built as infrastructure for a now-defunct residential community, this area's trails remain as "scenery highways" for those willing to get out and experience them.

This trail is the inner of the two loops located near Blue Mountain Lake.

Starting at the Blue Mountain Lake Parking Area, hop on the Outer Loop Trail heading east (right) to a 4-way junction with the inner loop. Take the immediate left, traveling along flat terrain for a few hundred meters before climbing moderately to reach lake level. Near the lake, take time to enjoy your beautiful surroundings made up of mixed hardwood forests. Keep your eyes peeled for red and white oak, shagbark hickory, red maple, and chestnut along the route. Continue to climb as your handrail the lake's edge, passing Upper Blue Mountain Lake on your right.

Near the end of the upper lake, the trail passes a junction with the Blue Mtn Lake N. Cutoff. Continue past the junction, winding around the water's edge, through a small creek crossing to another trail junction - this time with the Blue Mtn Lake S. Cutoff. Continue past the cutoff, meandering through established forests along the lakes edge. At one point, the trail leaves the trees to contour the lake shore. During the summer, this location can be a perfect place to unlace your shoes and dip your hot feet in the lake's cool, clear waters.

After enjoying the lake, continue descending gently along the trail, past a junction with the Outer Loop to the 4-way junction from the beginning of the day. Hike across the junction, following the western leg of the Outer Loop for a few meters before reaching the parking area on your left.
