Family Friendly An easy trail within driving, walking, and Metro distance of Washington, D.C. Parking available just a short walk from the trailhead off of the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

No bicycles. Closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. year-round.

Description

This short, flat trail runs north-south through the middle of Theodore Roosevelt Island, passing through the Memorial Plaza and by the statue of Theodore Roosevelt. The trailhead can be accessed off of the Swamp Trail either at the north end of the park, look for the water fountain, or the south-east as it merges with the Swamp Trail. The trail can also be accessed from the entrance to the park at the foot bridge.
