Family Friendly A trail with easy access from the parking area. There are many connectors to and from the two separate hills.

Overview

These are two hills easily accessible from Wilbur (7 mile) Trailhead. Boat Hill is north and the Water Tower Hill is south. Connect the two and enjoy the views!

Description

This hike features two great hills to hike for some cardio and views. Boat Hill is located to the north past the airstrip and the Water Tower Hill is just southwest of the parking lot. Park at 7 Mile and head out on Trail 25 (away from river).

At the junction, Trail 25 goes to the right about 1/4 mile at most, then veers up a short hill. At the top you'll see another trail to the right heading straight up. This is Boat Hill. Enjoy the climb and the views as you circle the top. You can come back down the way you came or take a singletrack option down. These trails circle the base of the hill.

If you backtrack to the Trail 25 junction again, you can continue past the trail back to the lot and follow it to another junction where you'll want to veer right for a short distance. Just before another junction of trails and an area called Military Camp, you'll see a trail (leaning tree land mark) to the left. Hike about .2 of a mile and take a right and then a left on the doubletrack trail to the Water Tower. Enjoy the views of this beautiful park and the old water tower. Both loops are just under four miles.

Flora & Fauna

Deer and ponderosa pines.
