Description

This trail is very steep, rutted, and loose at times, so it's challenging both up and down. The top has nice views over LA though, and it makes a good connector between Brown Mountain Road and Sunset Ridge, and Altadena. A short ways on the road from where the trail ends will bring you back to the Gabrielino National Recreation Trail, making a nice loop.

You can park at either end of the trail. At the top, park in front of the gate at the top of Chaney Trail Road, from which you follow the dirt path past a water tank. From the bottom, start next to a park and cross the road onto the obvious trail.
