A nice scenic loop that packs in more climbing than you'd expect.

Description

Park at the Bridge Creek trailhead. There's a limited amount of parking, so arrive earlier if you want to be sure to get a spot. The beginning of the trail is off to the left, across a small creek, behind the restrooms.

The trail starts with a smaller climb up the hillside and then drops down to the beginning of the loop. You'll retrace your steps back over this first section to return to the trailhead later. When you get to the fork you have your choice of doing the loop clockwise or counterclockwise; both are similar, though going clockwise gives you a slightly shorter and steeper climb.

No matter which way you choose, roughly the first half of the loop is relatively sustained climbing that will get your heart pumping. At the halfway point, you have the option of taking a spur trail up to Windy Peak for beautiful 360-degree mountain views.

Note: This is a lollipop trail but the HP map ends a rather long, uphill mile from your car. Plan accordingly. 5.6mi — 8h 00m
