From the trailhead at the end of Scenic Drive, start climbing up a fairly new series of switchbacks. The more sustainable trail is thanks to some trail work that was completed within the last 5-10 years. You'll climb to a low saddle and then drop into a valley with wonderful views in both the early morning and evening. Though short, this trail gains enough elevation to be fairly strenuous. By the time you reach the top, the views make it all worthwhile!
