Description

This short .4 mile trail begins just south of the park on the Flagg Ranch to Ashton, Idaho NFS Road (sometimes called the Grassy Lake Road) just over a mile west of Grassy Lake and 11 miles west of Flagg Ranch. It ends at a junction with the Terraced Falls Trail and Mountain Ash - Cascade Creek Connector trail. These three relatively new trails were constructed in 1988.

From the parking area on the north side of the gravel Grassy Lake Road, the Cascade Creek-Falls River Cutoff Trail parallels Cascade Creek on the right and drops 140 feet in just over .4 miles to its terminus. From the end of the Cutoff Trail, you can continue straight another 1.5 miles on the Terraced Falls Trail for a view of 140-foot Terraced Falls or turn right and continue another .8 miles to a junction with the Mountain Ash Creek Trail, near where it crosses the Falls River.
