Description

From the parking lot, the trail is easy to find and follow and it starts off with a pretty steady but easy incline. As the trail continues, certain sections are pretty steep.

The trail starts in a forest canopy but eventually leaves the canopy for a more exposed hillside and from this part you get great views of Logan Canyon and the cliffs that sit underneath the Crimson Trail.

As the trail continues, there are many spur trails but they are usually blocked off or it is easy to see the main trail. Be sure to stay on the main trail because spur trails sometimes lead to nowhere, or to somewhere that you don't want to go, or they just cause erosion on this extremely popular trail, which is discouraged.

As the trail gets closer to the top of the climb, it starts to level out and finishes out right on top of the wind caves, and it is just a short scramble to get down into the main cave, where you get the best views of Logan Canyon on the whole trail.

Light snow on the ground covered some parts with slick ice! Saw some people out with microspikes, but we were fine with regular hiking boots. 3.6mi — 2h 00m
