No facilities exist along the trail or at the ponds.

When camping, please set up campsite at least 200 feet from the ponds.

Description

The trail climbs gently through dense aspen stands. This is an excellent outing, especially in the fall season due to the beautiful foliage. Fishing the ponds is considered fair to good.

Once on the trail, you cross into the West Elk Wilderness Area where Wilderness Regulations apply.

Main beaver pond in late July. Abundant wildflowers around northern edge can be traversed via an unofficial loop trail.

Trail is predominantly under the canopy of a mature aspen grove. Lots of shade and smooth trail. Great for little legs or just a casual stroll.
