The skyline trail is now part of the TransCanada Trail network, and in places signage has been replaced with TCT trail markers. The
Skyline Trail signs still exist, especially through the middle part of the trail. There are many entry points to the trail, I've mapped this from the first point that the power lines and trail enter residential areas in West Vancouver at Millstream Road.
The trail is co-branded TCT and Baden Powell at this point, and climbs quickly to the intersection with
Brothers Creek Fire Road. An alternative approach to reach
Skyline Trail would be to enter at the Millstream entrance for the
Brothers Creek Fire Road. From here, the trail markers for
Skyline Trail are also visible. So, as long as you see one of the three trail names (BP, Skyline or TCT) you are on the right path.
The route rises further through the lower Hollyburn, eventually reaching the Helipad at
Brothers Creek Trail. From here, the Baden Powell trail turns off and climbs the hill while
Skyline Trail continues to follow the power lines. The trail starts to flatten out for a short period, but the trail climbs and descends slightly at each of the many creek and gully crossings.
As the trail nears Cypress Mountain the path stays in the power line right of way and becomes easier. The end point of the trail is a nice viewpoint and picnic area about halfway up the drive to Cypress Bowl.
