Description

This short spur trail starts along the Three T's Trail about 0.6 miles north from Icehouse Saddle. It gently climbs east through an open forest of Jeffrey and lodgepole pines and then switchbacks up the last steep part to the summit. The summit is rather broad and forested, so the views are somewhat limited. There is a nice bowl to the east which would make a fine camping spot, but please remember that no campfires are allowed outside of campgrounds.

Fun fact—there is a geocache/sign-in book in a little box at the nook of a tree at the summit of Timber Mtn.

Flora & Fauna

There is great bird watching along this trail. BEWARE of BEES! There is a beehive in a trunk about 20' uphill of the Three Three T's Trail right after you head toward Timber Mtn. from the Icehouse Saddle. They became frenzied during the spring flowering and swarmed the hiker in front of me, who had to be airlifted out. Just keep an eye out, and keep your dog on a leash!
