Description
In spite of the fact that Scout Trail is on current the Land Trust trail there are not official trail markers except of a loan single white diamond with no trail name 1/8 of mile before the end of the
Fanning Trail. You'll need to keep your eyes peeled as that marker can be difficult to see.
When you find the aforementioned trail marker you'll notice that someone, probably the Land Trust, has started marking with blue and pink flagging where the trail is supposed to be to be cleared in the future. Until then you can follow the flagging for about a mile but you'll need to climb over a lot trees and avoid poison oak. Be aware that snakes to like to live under these logs.
The final 1/8th of mile is a very steep switchback put your right out on the Ledges Golf Course.
History: This used to be part of the an old Boy Scout Trail called Spacewalk Scout Trail that ran from Green Mountain to Monte Sano that they would use to train for hiking the Appalachian Trail. Upon completion scouts received a sweet badge.
