Description

From the Spanish Creek trailhead, follow the lovely but popular trail along the banks of Spanish Creek. The trail follows Spanish Creek along a long and only slightly elevating valley until the forks into a couple options. Hikers have the choice to climb to the right, up Falls Creek and the Jerome Rock Lakes Trail, after this there is a junction with High Lakes Trail leading you either on that pass or up to Spanish Lakes.

If you choose to pass up these first options, continue along the South Fork Spanish Creek Trail proper as it continues to sublime sub-alpine realms of Mirror Lake and its heady mountainous surroundings. Mirror Lake makes for excellent camping and fishing, but the hearty traveler can also continue on to trail's end at the pass into Bear Basin or over to Summit Lake.
