Overview

Hike any distance out and back along this trail for a moderate workout with excellent views over the lake. It's a go-to choice for campers at the lake, and for Leadville locals seeking a casual hike or trail run with access to water.

Need to Know

During the summer there are typically water faucets with potable water that you use to fill up your bottles in the Mayqueen Campground.

Description

This is usually done as an out and back. Park at the dam and follow the Turquoise Lake Trail along the lake to Mayqueen Campground. It's a great trail to acclimate due to the minimal elevation gain and nice climbs.

If you are looking for a shorter and quieter out-and-back adventure on this trail park at the Tabor Boat Ramp and head west to Mayqueen (8.3 mile out and back).

Lovely, easy trail along the perimeter of the lake. Our puppy loved it and didn't get too tired out. 6mi
