Need to Know

High altitude means there can be snow cover from December through March.

Description

This trail is hard-packed singletrack for 90% of the way. Be sure to follow the blue diamond trail markers. There are two possible shortcuts that provide shorter loops.

This loop can be traveled in either direction and has an optional spur trail to the summit of Ecks Mountain. The north section of the loop travels above a small box canyon. The southern portion has fairly consistent terrain, heading through a flat ponderosa pine forest with alternating singletrack trails and old logging roads.

History & Background

Ruins of pioneer cabins & a stage coach station dot the trail.
