Description

This trail offers a reasonable climb to the best view in the park... Rocky Top. It is always good to plan to spend some time at the top. You'll see the Diamond Mountains to the south that mark the northernmost extent of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. To the east, is the Great Basin and the Modoc Plateau. Rocky Top Trail meanders along a south facing aspect of an extinct shield volcano. This place marks the southeastern terminus of the great Cascade Mountain Range.
