Overview

This is an enjoyable trek through a mossy, ferny wonderland to an impressive two-tiered waterfall.

Need to Know

Trailhead has restrooms. Lake Crescent Lodge (traditionally open late April - December) is nearby with a gift shop and restaurant. They also rent kayaks in the summer.

Description

Park at Storm King Ranger Station. Follow the path in front of the station down to the water through a tunnel under Highway 101. This level path winds through pleasant forest filled with ferns, mosses and huge fir and hemlock trees.

You'll pass the junction with the Storm King Trail and then the trail turns west to cross a bridge over Barnes Creek (the Barnes Creek Trail continues straight). Follow signs to Marymere Falls.

The Marymere Falls Trail crosses another bridge over Falls Creek then leads to short loop with two vantage points of the 90 foot waterfall. Please note this short loop involves climbing a series of steep stairs. Complete the loop back around to retrace your steps back to the parking area.

The water from Marymere Falls joins with Barnes Creek which drains into Lake Crescent west of Lake Crescent Lodge.

Flora & Fauna
